CHOIX Patisserie & Restaurant by Pierre Gagnaire launches at InterContinental Dubai Festival City
CHOIX Patisserie & Restaurant par Pierre Gagnaire, opening at InterContinental Dubai Festival City will welcome guests from March 2014. The first restaurant of its kind in the Emirates, its name meaning ‘Choice’, is inspired by the multi-Michelin starred, world renowned Chef, Pierre Gagnaire, creator of award winning ‘Reflet’ at the hotel. The new venue will offer patrons an experience of exceptional culinary creativity and unmatched quality in Dubai.
Chef Gagnaire’s new venture into Dubai is a natural move for a man who has already conquered in most major cities around the world from London, to Paris, Moscow, Berlin, and recently in Las Vegas, which saw him receive yet another award, this time, a Forbes Five-Star award for his culinary excellence. Chef Pierre Gagnaire said, “I have been very excited about this new collaboration with InterContinental Dubai Festival City. Since its conceptualization, we have all been hands-on to ensure that Choix is reflective of the ‘Pierre Gagnaire touch’ as well as appealing to the local market as it’s a brand we’d like to call home-grown. With the authentic Parisian culinary experience, our patisserie and special cakes are something guests can look forward to.”
Chef Gagnaire is famed for tenderness in creating remarkable cuisine, so the simplest dishes, whether an éclair vanille or a tarte aux pommes promise to be exquisite. The extensive array of French pastries will all have a modern twist. Paired with the patisserie is a selection of high quality coffees and loose teas ensuring guests have choices that will suit their tastes. The highlight is the signature afternoon tea, a unique collection of playful fusions and flavors, finger sandwiches, éclairs, camel milk entremets, sultana scone and the fine variety of loose teas. The wide selection of cakes, many made with rich Valrhona chocolate, can be enjoyed at CHOIX Patisserie & Restaurant par Pierre Gagnaire, or taken home for special occasions. A range of shishas may be enjoyed from 6:00pm until 11:00pm.
During the course of breakfast, lunch and dinner there will be a diverse range of hot and cold dishes, influenced by local and European traditions, essentially refined by Chef Gagnaire’s contemporary touches. Selections include Pierre Gagnaire signature dish, ‘CHOIX eggs’, a healthy organic egg dish playing with avocado, goat cheese and fresh bread or the Red Croque Monsieur, a sandwich made with grilled zucchini, mozzarella, pesto, roquette salad and sundried tomatoes. The menu will evolve throughout the year, featuring seasonal French products all made with high-quality base ingredients such as the flour from Moulin de Versailles or butter from Bordier.
CHOIX Patisserie & Restaurant par Pierre Gagnaire is designed by Kristina Zanic, who is internationally recognized for successfully capturing cultural influences. The patisserie restaurant could be in Paris, but with an outside terrace, that overlooks the creek and gives a view of the Dubai skyline and the iconic Burj Khalifa, making this a highly desirable place to relax and enjoy at any time of the day or evening.
