Dubai Culture hosts series of sign language workshops for employees
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, hosted a series of workshops on sign language for its employees, enhancing the skillset of its members.
The workshops, held in line with the ‘My Community… A City for Everyone’ initiative announced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, aims to contribute to the city’s efforts to empower the specially-abled, through a framework that enhances the effectiveness of the Emirate’s existing projects and initiatives.
With the first training programme held for 15 employees in March last year, Dubai Culture will continue to organise sessions through the course of the year, with the entire programme to be completed in phases by 2015. During the first phase, members of the Dubai Public Library and the various heritage sites under the aegis of the Authority were trained in an array of subjects.
Dubai Culture is committed to enhancing awareness of culture and arts by fostering robust dialogue with the public to generate interest in the cultural sector, and contribute to promoting global dialogue on culture and arts.
