Dubai transported back in time during Zenith legendary timepieces exhibition in collaboration with rivoli group
This year Swiss watch manufacturer, Zenith,in collaboration with Rivoli Group travelled on a journey to the past with the Legendary Timepieces Exhibition. Hosted at the R Lounge in The H Hotel, Dubai, visitors of the exhibition had the chance to learn the history of vintage pieces whilst discovering the inspiration behind Zenith’s latest collections.
The Legendary Timepieces Exhibition is a worldwide tour that is making its way around several countries including Japan, the US, and now Dubai to display magnificent pieces of history. 15 vintage Zenith watches were displayed from every decade between the 1920’s to the 1970’s highlighting the brand’s uninterrupted history of producing quality timepieces. Once such example is the first El Primero designed in 1969, a watch which is used as inspiration for pieces in the current collection.
The exhibition included a fantastic treat for history connoisseurs in the form of timepieces worn by major historical figures. Visitors were able to see not only the watch worn by Louis Blériot, the first man to fly over the Channel in 1909, but also that of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States. Both of these watches provided inspiration for the current collection, Pilot and New Vintage 1965.Other examples of the current collection displayed at the exhibition where Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane, the most expensive piece of art that Zenith has ever created and the Academy Minute Repeater.
Held over one week, the exhibition saw the attendance of several VVIP as well as esteemed members of the media who were treated to an exclusive and unparalleled experience in an intimate setting. Abraham Koshy, Chief Operating Officer-Watch Division at the Rivoli Group, greeted guests with a warm welcome to the R Lounge, a Rivoli Group venue as luxurious as the brands it has housed. Also in attendance were Zenith representatives,Dr Majd Naji, Regional Ambassador and George Bechara, Regional Brand Director.
Speaking of the exhibition, Bechara said, “It has been a great pleasure to host this exhibition! It really gave us a platform to show guests how we use vintage pieces to create modern art whilst striving to give quality. We do this all without ever forgetting our roots or how far we have come to get to where we are today.”
