EgyptAir Duty Free six-month profits rebound
EgyptAir has said its retail and travel subsidiaries, EgyptAir Tourism (Karnak) and Duty Free, have reposted a combined net profit of EGP35m ($5.028m) between July and December 2013, Daily News Egypt has reported. Karnak is working with exhibitor companies at duty-free shops to increase profit, said chairman Kamal Hefni. He also said that Philip Morris would soon start updating its shops at the Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh airports, and Terminal 3 of the Cairo International Airport. “We met with representatives of Philip Morris this week to discuss how to promote the display of the company’s cigarette products, a key source of revenues in the shops at the Egyptian airports,” the chairman said.
