Egyptian fertiliser, methanol plants hit by gas supply stoppage

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co (EGAS) has said that is has stopped pumping natural gas to several fertiliser companies including Misr Fertilisers Production Co (MOPCO), Alexandria Fertilisers Co (AlexFert), and the Egypt Basic Industries Corp (EBIC), Daily News Egypt has reported. The stoppage, due to the increased gas consumption by power plants, started on June 27 and will continue until July 2, an EGAS official told the daily.
