Emarat unveils new charity initiatives during Zayed Humanitarian Work Day
Emirates General Petroleum Corporation “Emarat” announced several charity initiatives during the Holy month of Ramadan in participation in Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which aims to commemorate the great deeds of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, leading humanitarian and founder of the UAE.
Mr. Hussain Kazim, Manager Corporate Communications at Emarat, stated that Zayed Humanitarian Work Day is a message for the entire world of the effects of humanitarian and charity deeds which had become topics of interest and concern to the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan both inside and outside the UAE. This day embodies the unity and compassion of the UAE people and is an expression of their love and loyalty, proving that the charitable initiatives which Sheikh Zayed had established carry on in the hands of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Mr. Kazim also stated that the initiates which Emarat had decided on included providing financial support to host an iftar for 3,000 people who are fasting, in collaboration and coordination with Dar Al Ber Society which will handle the distribution of the food to the mosques which it works with. In addition, Emarat will be providing 20 ipads to one of the public benefit associations to give away to 20 people. The ipads will contain a summary of the humanitarian deeds of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The initiatives will also include providing financial support to Al Ain Center for the Disabled in participation of its initiative “Hand in Hand We Can Color Their Lives”, in addition to distributing free water and dates to the public in its petrol stations when fast is broken at sunset, providing iftar meals at Bakeria shops in serves stations at very affordable prices, and organizing an iftar dinner for the employees working at Emarat and another iftar dinner for the employees at its service stations.
