Ferrari World Abu Dhabi eyes local talent at EmiratesSkills National Competition
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is aiming to attract local talent to the budding theme park industry in the UAE. The region’s leading theme park will be presenting its educational initiatives at this year’s EmiratesSkills National Competition, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from the 14 to 16 of April.
The EmiratesSkills National Competition is designed to encourage and promote excellence in workmanship. Ali Al Marzouqi, President of EmiratesSkills said; “As a member of WorldSkills International, our mission focuses on encouraging students to bring their vocational skills to the highest standard of excellence. Our competition brings together some of the most promising talents in the UAE. We believe that these youths are tomorrow’s leaders and the engine of the economic development of the country.”
Acting as Community and Education Partner at the EmiratesSkills National Competition 2014, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will present two of its recent educational initiatives to local students. Einas Abou-Hatab, PR and Communications Manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, said: “We are committed to promoting technical education amongst students in the UAE and the EmiratesSkills National Competition provides an excellent platform to promote two of our programs; Coaster Lab and the Work Experience Program.”
Announced last year, “Coaster Lab” is a school program developed in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Education Council. The program focuses on the physics of rollercoasters and is designed to be delivered as an exciting learning experience at schools, by science teachers. The program has seen hundreds of students registered during the current academic year.
More recently, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi announced their Work Experience Programme which provides students the opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to work in the theme park industry, introducing possible new career paths to local talent.
