Giordano’s global cardless loyalty programme contributes 30% of retail sales
There are no strangers, at least, when it comes to Giordano’s loyalty programme. Giordano, the global apparel brand which has recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in the region, boasts of its wide-reaching loyalty programme ‘World Without Strangers’ (WWS).
WWS is one of the first global cardless loyalty programme to reach the Region in 2007, two years after its launch in Hong Kong. Globally, there are over eight million members. In the Middle East, members currently stand at nearly 500,000 with more than half of the members coming from Saudi Arabia and over 30 per cent from the UAE. Customers simply purchase items worth AED200 (or equivalent value in other GCC currencies), give their mobile numbers and registration is done. Members get discounts and earn points which they can redeem on their purchases from participating Giordano stores worldwide.
“WWS has proven to be a successful loyalty programme for Giordano – that’s an average of 80,000 members per year. Through WWS, we remain engaged and connected with our loyal customers and reward them with value-added promotions, special prices, offers and even additional discounts on their birthdays on top of earned points. In terms of sales, our members contribute 30 per cent to our business throughout the Middle East,” said Ishwar Chugani, Managing Director of Giordano Middle East FZE and Executive Director of Giordano International.
Membership is automatically renewed by making at least one purchase during the current year.
WWS is accepted in Giordano stores in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand.
