HMC’s Sealine Emergency Center celebrates camping season success
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has held a special event to mark the seventh successful year of its Sealine Emergency Center, which operated throughout the 2013-2014 camping season.
The celebration was held at Sharq Village and Spa, and was attended by Mr. Hamad Nasser Al Khalifa, Chief of Facilities and Workforce Development Group and Mr. Ali Al Khater, Executive Director of Corporate Communications at HMC as well as doctors, nurses and staff from the Ambulance Service.
This season, to provide enhanced services to campers, additional doctors, nurses and paramedics were allocated to the emergency center, which was also kitted out with advanced emergency equipment, as well as health insurance facilities.
The Sealine Emergency Center provided medical treatments to 623 patients including 44 women, 431 Qataris and 192 residents. A total of 22 patients were transferred to Hamad General Hospital (HGH) by the Ambulance Service while one case was transferred to HGH through LifeFlight Helicopter.
Speaking at the ceremony, Al Khater praised the efforts of Ambulance Service and other HMC teams as well as everyone who participated in this year’s camping season.
Forty HMC staff was honored during the celebration for their efforts during the camping period which ran from 23 October, 2013 to 12 April, 2014.
