Julphar launches ‘Fast Well in Ramadan’ campaign for Diabetic
In an effort to increase awareness about diabetes, Julphar Diabetes – the division of Julphar which manages the production and commercialization of Diabetes products – has launched a ‘Fast Well in Ramadan’ campaign across the UAE and some countries within the region, to help patients better manage the disease when fasting during Ramadan.
The campaign essentially seeks to correct certain myths about diabetics’ fasting, giving them valuable advice on how to reduce the risk of acute complications and maximize the benefits of fasting.
In the UAE, the campaign will encompass several activities; sponsoring a medical program on RAK FM Radio Station every Friday during Ramadan where a doctor will talk about different aspects of diabetes Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes as well as answer audience questions live on air. Julphar Diabetes will also sponsor daily advice on how to enjoy safe fasting, which will be broadcasted several times during the day throughout Ramadan.
In addition, Julphar Diabetes has partnered with Bayer Healthcare to distribute diabetic patient starter kits across medical centers in the UAE. The kits will include a glucometer, blood glucose diary and an educational booklet.

This campaign aims at rectifying certain popular myths about diabetics’ fasting in Ramadan and presenting valuable facts and advice for patients to avoid complications during Ramadan and enjoy the benefits of fasting.”
The campaign provides an integrated program for safe fasting during Ramadan, which includes meal planning, exercising, blood glucose monitoring, and recognizing and managing complications. The campaign will use Arabic, English and French to maximize reach to and impact on relevant stakeholders in UAE, KSA, Iraq, Lebanon and Tunisia.
