Motorola Solutions announces introduction of two new solutions in Middle East
Motorola Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: MSI) announced the introduction of two new solutions in the Middle East to enhance the shopping experience for customers as well as improve worker productivity for more efficient and accurate inventory management to complement their comprehensive solution portfolio for the retail sector.
With the majority of shoppers agreeing that self-help technologies improve their shopping experience, Motorola Solutions is introducing the industry’s most advanced personal shopping device in the Middle East, which will help shoppers save time and money as they quickly scan items and experience faster checkouts.
The MC18 Personal Shopper is Motorola’s fifth generation personal shopping device and bridges the gap between convenient technology and personal service – providing shoppers with relevant real-time discount coupons for items they are purchasing and suggestions for complementary merchandise.
Motorola personal shopping devices have been installed in more than 2,000 stores globally, accounting for nearly 1 million transactions per day. Retailers using this solution have reported an increased basket size of up to 30%, while receiving real-time visibility into what customers are buying. Shoppers benefit from the technology as they scan items as they shop, allowing for faster checkout. The MC18 is designed for grocery stores, department stores, hypermarkets, wholesale membership clubs and mass merchandisers.
Motorola Solutions, Inc. is also offering the third generation of the industry’s most successful mid-range mobile computer to retailers, manufacturers and distributors to help improve customer satisfaction through more efficient and accurate inventory management. The new, lightweight MC3200 mobile computer is ideal for inventory-related tasks on the store sales floor, in the warehouse aisle and on the loading dock where mobile workers need to rapidly and accurately pick orders to ensure customers receive the right items on time.
The cost-effective MC3200 is the industry’s first enterprise-class mobile device available with support for both the AndroidTM and Windows Embedded Compact (CE) 7 operating system (OS) – enabling businesses to standardize on one OS for all of their enterprise applications. With Premium models of the MC3200, companies can swap between Android and Windows CE7, enabling them to purchase the OS that best meets the needs of their businesses and workers today and in the future.
According to Hozefa Saylawala, Director Sales, Middle East – Motorola Enterprise Business, “The MC18 Personal Shopper represents the fifth generation of our retail solution that has been deployed in more than 65 retail chains and has transformed the shopping experience of customers around the world. Here in the Middle East, we see strong potential for deploying such solutions to elevate the entire shopping experience and are working with savvy regional retailers to deploy such solutions. The MC18 can help retailers minimize shoppers’ frustration with long lines at checkout, and more efficiently deploy staff to focus on customer service tasks – helping boost customer satisfaction, basket size and sales.”
He added, “With the MC3200 expanding the industry’s largest portfolio of Android-based mobile computers, only Motorola Solutions can provide companies with the ability to deploy Android-based mobile computing solutions across the enterprise – from the front of the store, back into the warehouse and out in the field.
