Omanuna Amanah explained to Muscat Festival visitors
As part of the campaign “Omanuna Amanah”, a series of initiatives were launched at Muscat Festival on Thursday to raise public awareness on the importance of maintaining public facilities including electricity, water and sewerage from vandalism, which accounted for loss of about two million Omani Rials during the period 2011-2013.
The program was educational, yet entertaining with the aim to spread information about the campaign and about the means of protecting public properties from damage. A huge number of children were involved to educate the visitors about the urgent need to preserve state assets. The initiative also included entertaining contests to attract families, presenting prizes to families and kids and enlightening the crowd in a pleasant way. There were colored balloons carrying the logo of the campaign and some illustrative drawings to spread the message of Omanuna Amanah.
The one-year campaign “Omanuna Amanah” was launched recently to inform the general public about the indispensible basic services and public facilities. Any damage to them endangers others and adversely impacts the quality of services rendered to the consumer. It is necessary to maintain these basic facilities so as to maintain the investments made by the state in the context of the government`s continuous spending on the infrastructure projects.
It is noteworthy that about 23 government and private bodies are participating in the campaign, realizing the importance of raising awareness and education on the public properties and assets and keeping them away from vandalism.
