All set for inaugural Saudi Food, Hotel, and Hospitality 2014
Saudi Arabia’s biggest food, hotel and hospitality show is all set to be held from April 13, 2014 at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Exhibition.
Highlighting the importance of Jeddah as a key trading hub for food and tourism industry, a large number of tourism officials and various top delegations are scheduled to attend the 19th edition of Saudi food & hotel and hospitality, the largest annual event for food, beverages and catering, hotel Equipment, supplies and services the in Saudi Arabia.
Running from Sunday 13 until Wednesday 16 April, 2014, the show will host 400 exhibitors from Turkey, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Jordan, USA and other local Saudi companies. The exhibition will also feature the prominent Top Chef Arabia contest and the Art de Table competition.
Speaking about the importance of the exhibition, Zahoor Siddique, Vice President of Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE) said, “The show is now recognized as the country’s best platform and business facilitator; this year’s show will further drive Jeddah as the hub of tourism and food sectors.” “This show is organized in light of the exciting developments in Saudi Arabia’s hotel industry and consistent with our continued efforts to make our events truly relevant to the needs of our clients,” he added.
He noted, “Saudi Arabia’s catering and hospitality industry is one of the Kingdom’s fastest growing sectors.” “The reasons are obvious. A growing population that will have doubled in size in two decades; expansion of the domestic tourist industry; and the development of the pilgrim market that will greatly contribute to the 88 million annual visitors by 2020,” he added.
Putting those trends into context, Siddique stated that the market sector is currently expanding by over 15% per annum. The health food market, by 12% with fast food due to turn over $4.5bn over the next three years. And the packaged food sector is growing by 5% with anticipated sales of almost $22bn in 2014.
As part of its four-day format, Saudi food & hotel and hospitality show will host Top Chef & Art de Table contests, jointly organized by ACE and I LEVEL with the support of WACS – World Association of Chef Societies, SARCA- Saudi Arabian Chefs Association, Euro Toques, Nestle Professional and Al Mashfa, which will feature culinary skills of chefs from the finest hotels and restaurants and adjudicated by a panel of international experts.
Saudi food, hotel and hospitality Arabia comes at a time when the Kingdom’s food and hospitality industries are experiencing rapid growth as more prestigious properties and new hotels are built for the rising number of tourists who are visiting Saudi Arabia every year.
Organized by Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE), the exhibition will be open for visitors daily from 5-10 pm.
