Sheikh Khalifa Medical City reaccredited by Joint Commission International
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) has been reaccredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), reaffirming its commitment to quality and excellence in healthcare. This is the third time that the hospital has been accredited by the prestigious body.
SKMC, managed by Cleveland Clinic, is part of the SEHA HealthSystem and owned and operated by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA), which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
“SKMC’s mission is to provide compassionate, patient-centred care of the highest quality, in a setting of education and research. We strive to be recognised as a preeminent medical centre and provide superior clinical outcomes for the people we serve – and the JCI reaccreditation is further recognition of the high quality of our services,” said Dr. Samer Ellahham, Chief Quality Officer, SKMC.
JCI works with health care organisations, governments, and international advocates to promote rigorous standards of care and provide solutions for achieving peak performance. SKMC has held JCI accreditation since 2008, and again in 2011, for the surgical and medical pavilions, outpatient specialty clinics and the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, and we intend to continue delivering on SKMC excellence with renewed accreditation in 2014.

SEHA’s flagship hospital marked its JCI reaccreditation on Thursday 10 April with a facility-wide celebration.
