The Ministry of Works participated in the Arabian World Construction Summit (MEED), which was held in Dubai mid-May. The conference is considered to be a leading event in strategic and urban planning for all parties concerned with construction, engineering, and government work, in addition to project owners, contractors and consultants.
Chief of Strategic Planning and Quality Management Eng. Raja Al Zayani participated in the conference, where she highlighted the Ministry’s strategy and its role in projects’ sustainability and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. In her presentation, Al Zayani also explained that the Ministry’s adoption to the Balanced Scorecard Methodology has enabled them to achieve their mission and vision and has earned them a prominent position and a leading role in project management.
The Strategic Planning & Quality Management Section at the Ministry of Works is considered to be a global reference for best practices in the application of the Balanced Scorecard Methodology, which enrolled the Ministry in the Hall of Fame since 2009.
The conference shed light on various a number of themes related to solution based delivery strategies for the region’s complex multi-disciplined construction projects, new procurement models for the megaproject, meeting specific client needs and working with the region’s master planners and major project owners, joint ventures, partnering and sub-contracting for key MENA Construction projects, sectors and markets, the GCC Real Estate construction sector and projects and managing the resurgence and opportunities, gearing up for the growing demand in MENA wide water infrastructure build and sustainable water projects, making the region’s construction projects work and getting the right financing in place and enabling investment, construction projects and building the region’s new dynamic social infrastructure, constructing the region’s Rail, Metro and urban transport systems, project management tools and asset management and other related issues.
