Qatar witnesses 35% jump in Q1 real estate deals

The total value of real estate transactions in Qatar recorded a 35.2% jump in the first quarter of this year to QR11.9bn, compared with QR8.8bn during the same period last year, the Peninsula has reported. The value of transactions during January 2014 rose 71.4% to QR4.8bn from QR2.8bn a year ago, but the rate of transactions saw a marginal slowdown in February dropping 6.5% year-on-year before rebounding to a 44.8% growth in March 2014. The total transactions value during the last month was QR4.2bn compared with QR2.9bn in the same period of 2013, said the report.
