The region’s leading IT and Technology event COMEX2014 has concluded with the participation of a wide range of public and private sectors. Under the patronage of e.oman and organized by OITE Trade Fairs, during the period from April 7 to 11, this year’s theme focused on eTransformation. With the participation of 36 government entities, 60 pioneer and specialized IT companies in the business section, in addition to 35 companies in the shopper section, the event was a success.
On the sidelines of COMEX2014, COMEX Conference kicked off during the period from 8 – 9 April, discussing mobile applications and their role in increasing productivity under the theme of Mobility. The show was a good occasion for the launch of a number of services for some government entities and businesses. One of the prominent COMEX agenda was the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Manpower and the Republic of Singapore to provide advisory services and to benefit from the experience of Singapore in the field of manpower. The other one is the agreement signed between ITA and Bank Dhofar for the use of eCertification services via mobile phones. Also, the agreement signed by ITA and ROP on the provision of eServices to inquire about the basic data for citizens and residents which will help government agencies to provide prompt service to users. This is in addition to the launch Oman Government Apps by ITA, which is a guide for all the official government apps.
The Oman Gov app allows the users to obtain the contact information for government entities and to identify the most important events associated with the government institutions, in addition to look at the map of the geographical locations of government agencies across the government.
Celebrating the last day of COMEX2014 the ITA held and honoring ceremony for the participating government entities as well as the international participants from the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan and the Republic of Singapore, Lithuania and Estonia. This is in addition to honoring the media and press in Oman, which magnificently contributed to the success of COMEX2014.
