GITEX Shopper Spring 2014 was inaugurated by His Highness Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Created under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the region’s biggest consumer IT and electronics retail show runs until Saturday 26th April at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
Excited visitors packed Sheikh Saeed Halls 1, 2 and 3 on the first day of the show, taking advantage of exceptional deals offered by top global brands and regional power retailers’ on the latest TVs, smart phones, tablets, and digital cameras, as well as household appliances, gadgets, games and entertainment accessories. Visitors also enjoyed the fun festival atmosphere that included millions of dirhams worth of prizes being won in promotions, raffles and giveaways including a Limited Edition Honda Accord to be won every day of the show.

As expected, GITEX Shopper Spring 2014 has attracted the biggest names in technology including Acer, Dell, E-City, Emax, HP, Jacky’s Electronics, Jumbo Electronics, Lenovo, LG, Max Electronics, Nestle, Nokia, One Mobile, Plug-Ins, Samsung (platinum sponsor), Sharaf DG and Toshiba.
“We see this year’s GITEX Shopper Spring as being the year of the smartphone. With major launches happening from Samsung with the Galaxy S5, HTC with the One M8, Nokia with the Android-based X-series devices and Lenovo with the new Vibe X/Z, we expect customers to be spoilt for choice. We expect to sell more smartphones in the four-day event than we will for the next two months combined. HTC, Nokia and Samsung have given us strong assurances that sufficient quantities for their new model will be available,” said Ashish Panjabi, COO of Jacky’s Electronics.
Visitors to show will be delighted with the central location of the show which enjoys a dedicated Metro station just steps away from the show, and trains running from 10:00am on Friday, 25th April thanks to a special agreement with the RTA. Ample parking, a wide variety of food and beverage outlets and a range of interactive and entertaining activities are adding to the festival atmosphere at the show.
Cricket enthusiasts visiting GITEX Shopper Spring will not miss the Indian Premier League games taking place this week thanks to a LG giant screen located between Hall 3 and the Arena.
GITEX Shopper Spring 2014 runs until 26 April from 11:00am – 11:00pm every day in Sheikh Saeed Halls 1, 2 and 3. Tickets are priced at AED15/- per person and are available at the venue and at select Emarat outlets. Entry is free for children under the age of five.
