Retailers push to bring Apple’s iPhone 6 to UAE stores by September 20, a week before the Middle East’s biggest consumer electronics show, Gitex Shopper.
Dubbed the ‘most eagerly anticipated release of the year’, customers will be able to purchase the new iPhone within 24 hours of its release. However, going on past experience; shipping times may take up to 10 days.
Nonetheless, tech fans in the region will be thrilled by the news that they will be able to receive their latest Apple gadget in time for the Gitex Shopper conference, which starts on September 27.
No official statement has been made so far from Apple inc. regarding the release date or the specs the new iPhone will have.
However, several pictures have been leaked suggesting it will boast a larger 4.7-inch screen, an enhanced internal storage and a 13MP camera. Moreover, and perhaps as a response to Samsung’s relatively successful Note range, rumours also suggest that Apple will release two version of the iPhone 6, one of which with a larger, pad-like model to be launched by the end of 2014.
The handset is expected to cost between $500 and $600, experts say.
