HP Inc. unveiled the new HP Spectre – dubbed the world’s thinnest laptop – in the UAE on Sunday.

The HP Spectre is 10.4mm thin and weighs just 1.1 kilograms, beating Apple’s latest and thinnest MacBook, which is 13.1mm thin.

“A large part of our business philosophy is to reinvent who we are, what our customers want, how we can provide that and – uniquely – how we anticipate that,” Mathew Thomas, VP and MD, Middle East, HP Inc., said in a statement.

“We aspire to create technology that makes life better for everyone, everywhere and, in the HP Spectre, we see innovation at its best – advanced and progressive technology that is geared to optimum productivity and a style and design that defines class,” Thomas added.

Features

Running Windows 10, the HP Spectre is built with sixth generation Intel® Core™ i5 and i7 processors, with storage of up to 512GB and up to 8GB of memory for maximum performance.

It features a 13.3” diagonal edge-to-edge display, featuring damage-resistant Corning® Gorilla® glass.

Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers deliver premium sound quality that is further enhanced with HP Audio Boost technology.

Inside the laptop lies a hybrid battery that has been split into two thinner pieces in order to deliver the same wattage of a single, advanced battery – up to 9.5 hours of battery life – without compromising the thinness of the laptop.

Design

The company heavily focused on the design of the new laptop. The Spectre has an aluminum chassis as thin as an AAA battery.

“In a region where we are constantly on the go and want to excel at our work and personal lives, it is important that we provide users with a laptop that complements their lifestyle – and today, our consumers are demanding a thin and light device with all-day battery life. We understand these needs and will always strive to reinvent and innovate, to engineer experiences that amaze,” Thomas commented.

Further stressing on the lifestyle aspect, fashion pieces by local designers were worn by local influencers who attended the event. All items were inspired by the design of the laptop.

The new creation is now available for sale in the UAE with a starting price of AED5,499.
