The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is dedicating a hall for innovation at the 18th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016).

The exhibition is running at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center from October 4 to 6, 2016, under the the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.

“Allocating a hall for innovation during WETEX is part of our continuous efforts to boost innovation in the UAE to support the National Innovation Strategy, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and the Dubai Innovation Strategy, launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to make Dubai the most innovative city in the world. The innovation hall will attract creative minds and innovative companies to showcase their inventions and innovations side by side with leading global companies in innovation. This step will support the next generation as well as boost energy, water, environment, and green development,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

WETEX 2016 will be held under the umbrella of Green Week, the pioneering initiative led by DEWA to implement green practices. It also coincides with the first Dubai Solar Show, a key platform for solar energy solutions including building, operation, distribution, storage and solar energy management technologies.
