Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, held a press conference to introduce its three new innovative products for applications and networks specifically used in building management systems (BMS) and oil and gas industries.
The company’s latest advanced solutions cater to the unique requirements of the Middle Eastern market and form part of its expansion strategies in the region.
The launch includes the cutting-edge Belden DataTuff Cables, the broadest line of industrial grade cable and cord sets. The cables have been designed and manufactured to endure extreme environments. Providing the highest levels of reliability, quality and performance, the company’s DataTuff product portfolio covers all areas of the industrial sector and features Belden’s patented Bonded-Pair technology. The technology ensures consistent electrical performance even when cables have been pulled, twisted and stepped on during and after installation.
Belden’s Modular Industrial Patch Panels (MIPPs), on the other hand, are cost-efficient termination panels for cables that need to be connected to switches and other active equipment. The new MIPP line has three innovative termination panel options, namely the MIPP Fiber Splice Box, the MIPP Copper Patch Panel, and the MIPP Mix.
MIPP Fiber Splice Box has been designed to efficiently terminate various types of fiber cabling in a wide range of industrial applications. It allows for termination and patching of up to 72 fiber cables, saving customers both space and costs. The MIPP Copper Patch Panel ensures maximum reliability for both industrial Ethernet and PROFINET networks. Through the combination of Belden’s MIPP and DataTuff patch cords, copper cables can be terminated and linked to active equipment in an organized and structured manner. It can terminate and patch up to 24 copper cables.
For networks using both fiber and copper cabling, the MIPP Mix integrates the connection of both cabling infrastructures in one single solution. With high port-density and flexibility, the combination of copper and fiber ports can include up to six modules per device.
The third new product introduced by the company is the newly approved high-temperature RailTuff Cat 7 Ethernet Data Cable designed for the passenger railway market of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The new RailTuff cable has a transmission performance of 10 Gbps, enabling multiple integration of board applications and effectively making cable installations future proof. In addition, the high temperature rating and low smoke, zero halogen construction and the flexible 19-strand conductors make it the ideal product for on-board rail vehicle installations.
With the new RailTuff product extension, which meets international railway standards, Belden has attained a complete portfolio of data communication cables in the railway transportation environment.
