Taiwan’s largest engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm in joint venture with a Japanese EPC, has awarded premier System Integrator, 3W Networks, the implementation of the Telecommunication Systems for Qatar’s first condensate processing plant, Laffan Refinery Company.
Laffan Refinery Company located in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar started a processing capacity of 146,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD) in 2009. It has a production capacity of 61,000 bpsd of naphtha, 52,000 bpsd of kerojet, 24,000 bpsd of gasoil, and 9,000 bpsd of LPG. Laffan Refinery continues to expand and double its condensate refining capacity, supplying more products from a second refinery known as Laffan Refinery Phase 2 (LR-2) set to be fully operational early 2016.
3W Networks will implement the full telecom system integration of Laffan Refinery Phase 2 (LR-2) to the existing telecommunication facilities of Laffan Refinery Phase 1 (LR-1) by using the most advanced telecom products and solutions including Fiber Optic Network, Telephone and Hotlines, Public Address and General Alarm, Closed-Circuit Television, Access Control, IT Network and Local Area Network.
The scope of work includes Detailed Design, Project Management, Procurement, System Integration, Site Acceptance Testing, Commissioning and Warranty.
