Datamena, the carrier neutral data centre and connectivity platform based in the UAE and serving the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, signed an agreement with Türk Telekom International (TTI) during Capacity ME to establish a Point of Presence (PoP) that will expand the company’s reach into the Middle East and beyond. Datamena is a Diamond Sponsor of Capacity ME.
The partnership agreement was signed on 2 March between Hany Ali – Executive vice President of Enterprise Marketing in du, and Cengiz Oztelcan, CEO of Türk Telekom International.
“Türk Telekom International brings a wealth of opportunities to Datamena customers. Named best Central and Eastern European Wholesale Carrier at the Global Carrier Awards 2013, TTI will particularly expand the connectivity options to Turkey, Eastern and Central Europe. TTI will also bring Gulfstream AMEER, a new alternative route between the Middle East and Europe, into Datamena, where it can connect further to other cables such as MEETS,” said Mahesh Jaishankar, Vice President – Datamena. “Our state of the art facilities host a multitude of regional and international entities, providing better connectivity to the MEA region.”
“We chose Datamena as an end point to facilitate our intention of bringing new capacity into the region due to the datacentre’s strategic location, and the rich ecosystem of carriers, CDNs, cloud providers and enterprise customers that currently inhabit the network,” said Cengiz Oztelcan, Türk Telekom International. “Datamena is a cost effective and reliable solution for landing our capacity for onward connectivity.”
Türk Telekom International joins the rapidly growing ecosystem of more than 40 customers interconnecting through Datamena’s neutral platform in the UAE, provided in alliance with Equinix.
