Oman Broadband Co has unveiled plans to extend and boost the fibre optic network in the sultanate to cover even the remotest parts and to provide faster and cheaper broadband services, Muscat Daily has reported. “The Oman Broadband Co will work to extend fibre optic networks to major cities with large populations outside the Muscat governorate for homes, service, commercial and industrial establishments,” said the company’s CEO, Said bin Abdullah al Mandhari. “In line with the recommendations of the national strategy for broadband, we seek to bridge the knowledge gap by connecting different villages through satellite or other appropriate solutions,” he said.
