Ooredoo Kuwait (Wataniya National Mobile Telecommunications Company K.S.C. – Ticker: NMTC) announced the appointment of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani as Chief Executive Officer of the company.
He will succeed Mr. Abdulaziz Ibrahim Fakhroo, who has tendered his resignation from the position upon reaching the end of his term. Mr. Fakhroo will move to a new position within the Group and will serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Ooredoo Kuwait.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Qatar University. Sheikh Mohammed previously worked in Ooredoo’s Finance Department as Director of Financial Operations, and was subsequently promoted to Senior Director, Budget and Decision Support, and Deputy Chief Officer, Finance.
Sheikh Mohammed has made several contributions to the field of finance and accounting, through his work in Ooredoo’s Finance Department, and also through his work as a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, where he has promoted the profession of accountancy in the State of Qatar and its important role in developing the country’s economy.
Sheikh Mohammed’s leadership roles has been developed through his work with and support for Ooredoo’s Senior Executive Management, as well as externally, through his work as a member of the Board of Directors for Ooredoo Kuwait where he has strongly supported the company’s progress.
