STC and Ericsson agreed to use Zero Site broadcasting solutions for the first time in the world. These solutions would provide mobile access network in the populated urban areas in Saudi Arabia. This is the first time to approve this sophisticated wireless transmission technology by using Ericsson solutions the leading company in Zero Site transmission bases.
Zero Site transmission bases can be installed within one day in the crowded areas thanks to its flexible structure which allows STC provide excellent coverage to customers in the urban centers.
Dr. Khalid AL Biyari, Senior VP of STC Group for Operations and Technology, said in this connection: “One of our main goals in STC is to adopt state-of-art technologies that satisfy our requirements to ensure our customers the finest service. Our partnership with Ericsson has allowed us approve high quality solutions that suit our needs. These advance solutions would help us surpass the obstacle we are facing as a result of our need for finding sites for installation of transmission bases to enhance the coverage of crowded areas in cities.
