Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced the successful conclusion of its main sponsorship of the Kuwait Grand Photography Contest that ran between March and April 2014. The competition, considered the largest of its kind in the country, was an opportunity for hidden talent amongst Kuwait’s young photographers to be identified and celebrated.
Zain participated in the closing ceremony that took place on 15 April, at which first, second, and third-placed winners were awarded their prizes. The presentation also showcased the winners’ photographs, in addition to honoring the event’s sponsors.
Commenting on Zain’s sponsorship of the competition, Waleed Al Khashti, Zain Kuwait’s Corporate Communications and Relations Manager said: “Witnessing over 1,000 photographers participate in the Kuwait Grand Photography Contest gave us a great deal of confidence regarding what we can expect from Kuwait’s younger generation given the talent we saw displayed. We are extremely proud to have sponsored such a prominent event, which helps Kuwait’s young people to showcase their capabilities. The contest itself was judged into four different categories, namely; Kuwait, Generic, Islamic, and Nature, in which Zain sponsored and honored the winners of the generic category.
