Telecom Egypt (TE), the country’s landline monopoly, has said a newly-formed government is expected to grant it a licence in March or April to provide mobile services this month or next, Reuters has reported. TE has been relying on its data business to boost revenue and has been waiting to launch a new mobile operation that would complement its existing joint venture with Vodafone and rival the sector’s two other players.
