Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region (Al Gharbia) and Chairman of the Emirates Falconer’s Club, and with the support of the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi, the 12th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2014), organised by the Emirates Falconer’s Club, will be held from the 17th to the 20th of September.
The Chairman of the ADIHEX Higher Organising Committee and Adviser for Culture and Heritage in the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, HE Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei noted that “the Exhibition aims at promoting the heritage of the United Arab Emirates, and shedding light on the deep-rooted history of the Emirati people. ADIHEX also seeks to attract a larger number of exhibitors and visitors as it aspires to transform the Emirate of Abu Dhabi into a regional hub for the preservation of cultural heritage.”
In the course of the previous editions, ADIHEX has achieved a remarkable progress. It has succeeded in securing a prestigious international stature that has prompted the manufacturers of hunting and equestrian equipment to single out Abu Dhabi as a top choice destination. The growing number of visitors and exhibitors reflects the wide acclaim and significant prominence that ADIHEX has been able to obtain over the years.
“The record number of visitors that keeps growing year after year and the large turnout of tourists from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the world underscore the prestigious stature and the international prominence of ADIHEX. The Exhibition also attracts a high number of families who come to discover and take part in the different activities and competitions,” said Mazrouei.
The previous edition (ADIHEX 2013) attracted a record number of visitors that surpassed all figures recorded over the last 11 years, and that since the launch of the Exhibition in 2003. Thousands of visitors from Abu Dhabi and the UAE, both nationals and residents, and thousands of tourists from the GCC countries and the world showed an unprecedented interest in the activities of ADIHEX 2013. A high turnout of families, from all age groups, was also recorded. ADIHEX has actually turned into a popular family festival that attracts and meets the expectations of all family members and social groups who find in the Exhibition a rare opportunity to discover the authentic Emirati heritage.
From the 4th to the 7th of September 2013 and over four days, , the number of ADHEX visitors reached 118,994, which makes up the highest turnout ever recorded in the history of the Exhibition. ADIHEX attracted 111,298 visitors in 2012 and about 95,000 visitors in 2011. It should be noted that the Exhibition was open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. non-stop and on a daily basis.
The previous edition of ADHIEX also received an extensive local, Arab, and international media coverage. On the occasion, the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi hosted the participation of 40 countries represented by more than 600 exhibitors and companies.
