Skyline University College allocated an Dhs1m scholarship fund for Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) employees, according to a memo of understanding that was signed at ATDD headquarters.
The MOU, signed by ATDD General Manager Faisal Al Nuaimi and Skyline University College CEO Nitin Anand, will allow ATDD personnel to get the Bachelor and Master’s degrees in the field of business administration.
“It came to establish a partnership that aimed to develop government sectors, link academic knowledge to practice and develop government cadres; a point that goes in line with ATDD’s strategic goal of developing Emirati cadres capable of leading the tourism sectors in Ajman,” Al Nuaimi said. “The fund allocation will be in the shape of fee discounts amounting from 15 to 50% for the coming three school semesters,” he added.
Skyline University College will offer research-related consultative services, in addition to training courses in the domains of marketing management, finance, human resources, project management, strategic planning, accounting, information technology and English language, the ATDD General Manager added. A number of staff members may also have a British Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality, as well as courses for tour guides.
For his part, Anand, said, “ATDD will allow Skyline University College students to get training in the tourism fields and help invite experts as guest lecturers at the college to get the students posted on best practices.”
“ATDD will provide Skyline University with statistics that would benefit students and lecturers and also cooperate with the college with regard to event management and marketing,” he concluded.
