As Dubai gears up to roll out festive fun for families throughout the ‘Eid in Dubai-Eid Al Fitr’ celebrations and the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) that will follow, hotels are looking ahead to a successful season, following a sharp increase in bookings by families from across the GCC region.
The seventh edition of ‘Eid in Dubai’ to celebrate the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, and the 17th edition of DSS 2014, from 2 August to 5 September, are being organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). The combined celebrations and festivities will run for 40 consecutive days, embracing and showcasing the core values of joy, family bonding and everything that can help the family to enjoy an unforgettable experience in Dubai during the Eid and summer holidays.
Hotels expect an upswing in occupancy levels with large numbers of families from the GCC region keen to take advantage of the festive ambience and diverse holiday offerings that await them in Dubai over a longer period this year. Besides, families are being tempted to visit Dubai by a range of special packages, promotions and entertainment that are being offered by the hotels during the citywide celebrations.
InterContinental Dubai Festival City and its sister hotel, Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City are offering competitive family packages to woo guests during the holiday period . These include free breakfast, lunch and accomodation for free for children below 12 years, late checkout until 4pm, up to 25 per cent discount for bookings that are made 10 days in advance, a number of special offers from their restaurants, special offers from Spa InterContinental and free shopping vouchers that can be used at Dubai Festival City Mall.
Emirates Grand Hotel is offering discounts of up to 15 per cent for a weekend stay, both during Eid and Dubai Summer Surprises while its Pearl Lounge restaurant is offering families the opportunity to enjoy a sumptuous Eid Brunch Buffet plus activities for the whole family for AED 149 per person. Children below five get to eat for free and children between 5 and 12 years are entitled to discounts of up to 50 % on their meals. Guests can also avail themselves of special offers at the hotel’s other restaurants including Tal Al Amar and the Turkish Shisha Lounge.
The spa at the hotel has a special offer of a full body massage for 60 minutes plus 30 minutes full body scrub for only AED 400.
