Jordan records 11% rise in Q1 tourism revenues

The Jordanian tourism ministry has said the kingdom’s tourism sector saw an increase in revenues and number of visitors in the first three months of 2014, Jordan Times has reported. Revenues rose 11% year-on-year to around JD728m in the first quarter. The ministry also said there has been a 4.7% increase in the number of group visitors in the January-March period of the current year, compared with the same period in 2013. A total of 932,000 individual visitors came to the country in the period in question, with a 3.1% increase compared with the same period in 2013, the ministry said.
