Kuwait, 3 April 2014: Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa is supporting the World Autism Awareness Day on Wednesday, 2 April by lighting up key areas in blue.
The initiative is an expression of solidarity from Kuwait’s idyllic resort to a global campaign to raise awareness of the condition.
Among the areas that will have blue lights are the hotel’s main entrance, the lobby, garden palm trees and the Olio terrace fountains.
In addition, blue flowers would likewise adorn the lobby and staff will wear blue World Autism Day ribbons.
‘Light it up Blue’ is part of a global initiative by US-based organisation ‘Autism Speaks’, a non-profit company that promotes research into autism and awareness of. This campaign is being conducted in commemoration of the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day, which also kicks off Autism Awareness Month. Many landmarks such as such as the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the Empire State Building in New York and Sydney Opera House, and other hotels, sporting venues, concert halls, museums, bridges and retail stores are among the hundreds of thousands of homes and communities that take part in the ‘Light It Up Blue’ campaign every year.
