The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai won three prestigious awards last night at two of the hospitality industries leading award ceremonies.
Taking the top accolades at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2014, the property was named ‘Best Business Hotel in Dubai’ and ‘Overall Best Business Hotel in the Middle East’.
Further boosting the properties credentials as leading convention hotel, the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai was named the ‘Leading MICE Hotel in the Middle East’, courtesy of the highly sought-after World Travel Awards 2014.
All three recognitions re-affirm the properties extensive capabilities to cater to the business community on both a regional and global level. Now with a newly opened second tower, the Emirates Group owned JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is set to enhance its existing offering with the introduction an additional 804 luxurious suites and rooms, bringing the total room count to 1,608 by the end of the year. Tower 2 will also introduce a new lounge which will build on the hotel’s current 14-strong portfolio of restaurants and lounges. The new offering will have a 72nd floor two tier function space, appealing to events planners worldwide thanks to its breathtaking views of the Dubai skyline.
Commenting on the accolades, Bill Keffer, General Manager of the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai said: “JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is owned by Emirates and has been designed to support the UAE’s growth as a major convention location. Our hotel supports this by being the only hotel in the region that is capable of hosting over 1,000 people to eat, sleep and meet. As a result of our unique offering, we believe the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is an asset to Dubai, helping build the country’s reputation as the leading destination for global meetings and conventions.
The World Travel Awards are globally recognised as a prestigious, comprehensive and sought after awards programme and one of the highest industry accolades. Each award is subject to a thorough voting process involving over 180,000 tourism and hospitality professionals around the world.
The Business Traveller Middle East magazine awards were created to recognise and celebrate the achievements and high standards set by hotels, airports and airlines across the GCC. Winners are voted for by subscribers through an annual readers’ poll distributed in print and online from January to April.
Keffer added: “Winning three accolades in one night is an incredible accomplishment and, we share the honor with all of our colleagues who have worked so hard to reach everyday excellence within this iconic property.”
