The Ministry of Health recently concluded a blood donation activity at the Radisson Blu Hotel Muscat. The hotel is a regular contributor to the Ministry’s Department of Blood Services and has hosted numerous such drives so far.
Employees took time out from their busy work schedules at the hotel to contribute to the blood camp. The deputed blood bank team collected information and screened viable donors. The doctor from the medical team on location emphasised how vital blood donation was for use in accidents and emergency situations. He commended the donors for their efforts and enthusiasm to get involved.
One of the employees mentioned, “This was the fourth consecutive year that he was donating blood. When asked what his motive was he replied that “blood is not a commodity that can be manufactured so if we as human beings don’t provide this resource to each other, there is no other way to obtain it.”
Blood donation is one of the many activities undertaken by the Radisson Blu Hotel, Muscat as part of ‘Responsible Business’ planned projects throughout the year.
