Emirates Palace to celebrate locally-grown produce, meats and cheeses with Abu Dhabi farmers at a week-long mini Farmer’s Market at Le Vendôme Brasserie
Abu Dhabi, April 10th 2014 – With spring in full bloom, Abu Dhabi farmers will gather their best produce and their freshest meats and dairy products to showcase in a week-long Local Harvest Promotion, in the form of a mini Farmer’s Market, at Le Vendôme Brasserie in Emirates Palace.
The Local Harvest Promotion will showcase vegetables, honey, chicken, camel meat, cheese and milk farmed right here in Abu Dhabi. Rustic wooden stalls will overflow with tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers, a veritable rainbow of orange, yellow, red and green.
Farmers, representatives of the farming industry, and Emirates Palace chefs will be available throughout the week to interact with visitors, who will also receive a selection of fresh products to take home and enjoy.
Emirates Palace has been a firm supporter of Abu Dhabi’s agricultural initiatives. Supporting the local community is an important part of the Emirates Palace culinary philosophy, and integrating these food items into the menus throughout the hotel remains a continuous goal.
“What the farmers in Abu Dhabi and the greater UAE have been able to grow and produce in this arid, desert environment in the last decade is very impressive, and we have to applaud this achievement by showcasing the best of these fresh products to the public,” said Sandro Gamba, Executive Chef at Emirates Palace.
“I encourage everybody to come out to speak to the farmers firsthand, and to get tips and tricks from our talented chefs on how to use these fresh products in your cooking at home.”
The event will run from Thursday, April 10th to Wednesday, April 16th between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm, and 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm in front of Le Vendôme Brasserie, located on the 4th floor of Emirates Palace. All the fresh products on display in the mini Farmer’s Market will be used in the lunch and dinner buffet in Le Vendôme Brasserie.
