Tamani Marina Hotel is now an ISO 9001 certified five-star property following the granting of the world’s most-recognized quality management certification with three years validity.
The certification has been done by the UK-based United Registrar of Systems’ (URS) Middle East office based in Sharjah following the satisfactory completion of all the required assessments, procedures and processes. Training had been provided to staff before and after the certification process for an effective compliance.
The scope of activities of ISO 9001-2008 certification covers the hotel and hospitality services. The certification is valid until February 2017 and will be due for renewal for a similar period. The hotel’s certification will be entered into the Academy of Certified Businesses’ (ACB) commercial website database which is known to be used by many companies who have a policy of using certified suppliers.
Walid Al-Awa, General Manager, Tamani Marina Hotel, said, “The acquisition of ISO 9001 certificate will enable the hotel become a more consistent competitor in the marketplace and allow even more better quality management to meet the customer needs. It will also help improve operational performance and motivate and engage staff with more efficient internal processes and win more customers with better customer service. The certification reflects our commitment to quality and high standards.”
Tamani Marina Hotel is an all-suites luxury-defining property with 245 units spread over 55 stories in the picturesque Dubai Marina and overlooking The Palm.
He said, “Organisations that implement an effective business management system create a confidence among their stakeholders in the capability of their processes and the reliability of their services. In addition, an effective business management system serves to create the basis for continual improvement leading to increased customer satisfaction and ultimately to the success of the organisation.”
ISO 9001 is an international quality standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a worldwide federation of national standards bodies representing some 130 countries. The ISO 9001 quality management system will help the five-star continually monitor and manage quality across all operations. As the world’s most widely recognized quality management standard, it outlines ways to achieve, as well as benchmark, consistent performance and service. It allows organisations put in place processes that improve the way they operate at all levels.
The most widely-recognized ISO 9001 is a basic quality management system that can be used in industries of any size, anywhere in the world. The quality management system standard is used by over half a million organizations in 159 countries. One of the major strengths of ISO 9001 for its wider appeal for all types of organization is its focus on processes and customer satisfaction rather than procedures. ISO 9001 is based on eight Quality Management Principles- customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
