The Western Region Development Council (WRDC) is attending the Berlin International Tourism Fair (ITB) which is the leading tourism trade fair in the world. The fair is running from 4th – 9th March, 2014. Through this event, WRDC in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (ADTCA) seeks to raise awareness of Al Gharbia and promote the region’s tourism sector. It will also highlight the region’s valuable resources, natural attributes and investment opportunities.
In order to attract visitors and network with key industry players such as investors, businesses, operators and developers, Al Gharbia will be featured in the main Abu Dhabi stand at ITB.
Commenting on WRDC’s participation, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Hosani, Regional Development Director at WRDC, said: “WRDC’s involvement in such events is aimed at promoting the region locally, regionally and internationally thus reinforcing its position on the global tourism map. Given the unparalleled success and audience participation at ITB Berlin each year, WRDC’s involvement will only help us in moving towards our goal at a faster rate.”
Al Hosani added: “Al Gharbia boasts various tourist attractions including the world renowned Sir Bani Yas Island. The latter comprises one of Abu Dhabi’s largest wildlife reserves and several soon- to- be developed resources. The region also hosts major international events throughout the year such as Al Gharbia Water Sports Festival, Liwa International Festival – Tel Moreb and the highly-anticipated Liwa Dates Festival.”
