Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi is set to thrill the region’s inbound MICE industry at this year’s annual Gulf Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings Expo (GIBTM). The waterpark, which is gearing up to renew interest in its one of a kind incentive offering, will exhibit as part of the Expo at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC) from 24 – 26 March 2014.
After enjoying a hugely successful first year of operations, which saw healthy interest from both locally-based businesses and organisations as well as international corporates, Yas Waterworld has already secured its place as a go-to destination for MICE visitors in the UAE. However, the park has caused a particular splash within the region as a venue for incentive trips due to its range of never-before-seen attractions and incentive packages, which offer guests the option to book out the entire park or any of the ride zones.
“It’s fantastic that in just 14 short months we’ve hosted MICE events at Yas Waterworld for world-class business and leisure outlets including a private dinner as part of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. With the weather now improving, we’re looking forward to extending this success and encouraging businesses both here in the UAE and abroad to reward and delight their employees with a mega waterpark experience like no other. With enhanced ride experiences for 2014, we’re more ready than ever to highlight exactly what Yas Waterworld can offer to take the bored out of the boardroom for corporates”, said Mike Oswald, Park General Manager at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi.
Exhibiting as part of the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority / Yas Island stand at the 8th edition of GIBTM this year, Yas Waterworld will demonstrate its bespoke packages to industry delegates at the event. Tailor-made to cater to all budgets and requirements, these can be handpicked by businesses or organised in conjunction with the park’s in-house events and F&B teams who can meet all needs from AV and lighting to finger food and gala dinners.
Other dedicated incentives at the park include the Yas Flow League, which takes place on the world’s largest FlowBarrel 10 Double Sheet Wave Ride, Bubble’s Barrel, and sees guests battle it out on the waves under the watchful eye of flowboarding world champion, Clayton Barker. Similarly, Yas Waterworld’s weekly Ladies Nights, complete with a dedicated female DJ are perfect for female business and leisure visitors. Finally, the recently introduced Pearl Diving Guest Experience is ideal for incentive day trips extending to families, as guests eight years and older are invited to dive for oysters at the bottom of an underwater tank.
With the GIBTIM welcoming visitors from both the region as well as countries from across the world, Yas Waterworld is aiming to attract delegates at the event from its key source markets in the GCC, Russia, India, China, UK, Australia, Europe and the US. “We’re looking forward to welcoming GIBTM visitors to the Yas Island stand to highlight exactly how Yas Waterworld can cater to their corporate and incentive needs by offering them a day out that can start with a ride down a vertical waterslide and end with an interactive treasure hunt; in other words, a day that is completely unique”, concluded Oswald.
Yas Waterworld can be found at the TCA Abu Dhabi stand number B10 at this year’s GIBTM.
