Oman Road Safety Association in partnership with Omani Women Association, sponsored by Bank Sohar, celebrated Omani Women Day in Al Buraimi under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Muna bint Salim Al Jardani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower lately in the presence of officials from the government, non government and private sectors.
Shaima Murtadha Al Lawati, Chief Executive Officer of the Oman Road Safety Association commented saying: “Omani women play active role in building the country. They are pursuing careers and professional training, but most importantly they are looking after our children. We all know the role of mothers, sisters and daughters in raising our children with the right habits and culture and that includes road safety.”
Al Lawati continued, “Oman Road Safety Association, realising this important role of women in society, targeted them in Al Buraimi during the road safety awareness held there. Safer Kids.. Safer Oman.. is a campaign started early this year, in partnership with Bank Sohar, aiming to help in showing the best ways in road safety based on global latest practices to keep our children safe while using roads. I thank Bank Sohar for their continuous support.”
Oman Road Safety Association (ORSA), a non-governmental organisation registered under the Ministry of Social Development. The key activities of the Association include advocacy and awareness, training, capacity building and supporting research in the field of road safety. It also includes carrying out sustainable projects in the field of road safety in partnership with government, non-governmental and private sector organisations.
