In line with Omanexpo’s social responsibility initiatives and following its declaration of support for road safety awareness in its automotive event in 2012, the 4th Traffic Safety Expo comes high in the heels of the continuous active campaign against road accidents by the government and private organizations.
An initiative of the Royal Oman Police (ROP), Traffic Safety Expo will be a four-day event, from November 11 to 14, and will be held at the Oman International Exhibition Center. The exhibition doors will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. every day.
The exhibition will feature 42 private companies and 22 sponsors from the oil and gas, automotive, banking, traffic equipment, training, and construction sectors, taking up space of about 40,000 square meters. To date, it has received confirmation of participation from 24 ministries, five departments of the ROP, six wilayats, and seven non-government organizations.
Traffic Safety Expo 2013 will provide an entertainment and learning aspect by way of a fun area for children, a quiz area for adults, traffic games, a puzzle competition, and a painting competition supported by McDonald’s.
Ebrahim Taher, exhibition manager for Traffic Safety Expo, explains “We aim to instill a deep sense of responsibility and awareness for road safety not only in adults, but also in children. We are doing this through an enjoyable kind of learning and information acquisition.”
In addition to the education and entertainment elements, there will be a raffle draw that will add excitement and interest to the exhibition.
Traffic Safety Expo 2013 will be formally opened by H.E. Eng. Ali Al Sunaidy. Visitors to the event, which will include school and university students and families, are expected to reach more than 60,000.
