For the second year in a row, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has taken part in the Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show 2013 recently held by the marina of the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club; an event considered the first of its type in the region, and open for buyers and venders hailing from the entire Middle East.
“RTA’s participation in this event featured the exhibition of a number of water buses and water taxis in two dedicated marinas at the show in a bid to promote the marine transport services in Dubai along with the possibility of luring investors who might be interested in charting boats in long-term contracts,” said Hussain Khansaheb, Acting Director of RTA Marine Transport.
“The RTA is part of the lineup of supporters of this event, and the phrase ‘Supported by RTA’ was displayed at the main entrances, website, leaflets, brochures and other promotional materials of the event showcasing RTA participation in this event,” he added.
“Through participation in the Dubai Boats Show, the RTA is seeking to promote the marine transit modes and bolster the cooperation with the Dubai Golf Club with which the Public Transport Agency had signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the end of Jan 2012 with the aim of promoting RTA marine transit services amongst the visitors & tourists coming to the Dubai Golf Club for the long term benefits of both parties. In accordance with this MoU, the Club designated one of its marinas as a water taxi station to serve the visitors of the Park Hyatt Hotel situated within the Club,” he continued.
Khansaheb stressed the keenness of the Public Transport Agency to take part in all events within the UAE or beyond offering a platform for marketing or promoting its advanced service packages to the public from the entire spectrums of the community including residents, visitors and tourists. It is note-worthy that Dr. Yousef Mohammed Al Ali was among those attending the opening of the Dubai Pre-Owned Boats Show 2013 together with a host of Directors and officials from other entities participating in the event.
