Saudi Arabia mulling higher minimum driving age

Saudi Arabia’s Shoura Council is studying a proposal to raise the minimum age for drivers, Arab News has reported. According to the proposal, the minimum age of private cars and motorbikes is to be raised to 20 and for heavy vehicles to 23. Council member Ahmad Al-Mefreh drafted his proposal in light of reports that a majority of road accidents involve young drivers, the report said.
