The ACI Asia-Pacific/ World Annual General Assembly successfully concluded in Seoul, Korea. Jointly organized by ACI World and ACI Asia-Pacific and hosted by Incheon Airport, the conference boasted record breaking attendance with over 1,000 delegates from over 70 countries and ended with fruitful discussion on the theme ‘Serving the customers and the community’.
The conference was officially opened on May 27 when Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, President of the ICAO Council delivered his keynote address. In his address, he commented on the progress made on the various projects that ICAO and ACI collaborated on.
He concluded his remarks and said, “From ICAO’s perspective, ACI has been an excellent representative of your agreed positions and views and I am very confident of our shared success if we continue to work towards our goals.”
The two-day conference covered a wide range of discussions from master the art of leadership; achieving customer service excellence; reaching a sustainability balance between economic regulation and airport investment; learning best practices and emerging trends in ensuring the continuity of service and finding strategies to facilitate growth and maximize revenues from air cargo.
The conference culminated at the Gala Dinner that took place on May 27 at the Lotte World Ice Rink. Guests at the Gala Dinner also witnessed the presentation of the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards where the top performing airports in service quality were honored.
The conference was officially closed at the closing ceremony when Incheon Airport passed the flag to the next host, Airport International Group (AIG) which operates the Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan.
Mr. Rodolfo Echeverria, Chief Financial Officer received the flag on behalf of AIG as the next host to the ACI Asia-Pacific Annual Assembly and said, “Airport International Group is honored to be the next host of the ACI Asia-Pacific Annual Assembly which will be held from April 27 – 29, 2015 in Dead Sea, Jordan. We have just celebrated the first year anniversary of our new QAIA terminal which was opened in March 2013 and we are proud to provide Jordan with a world class airport that offers a unique travel experience and positions the Kingdom as a niche transit hub in the region. On behalf of AIG, I sincerely hope that you will join us in making the 10th ACI Asia-Pacific Annual Assembly a success and we look forward to welcome you to the Dead Sea, Jordan.”
