Bahrain’s Afaq Institute of Aviation Technology has signed an agreement with Nastech/Flynas airline to establish an aircraft engineering training academy in Saudi Arabia. According to the terms of the deal, Saudi Arabia’s first European EASA 147-approved academy will manage the Aircraft Engineering Maintenance Program (AEMP), which will be conducted at Nastech’s facilities in Riyadh. The programme is scheduled to commence in May 2014 for the duration of five years, one of which will be for Aviation English orientation, followed by four years of studying for the EASA certificate. Successful trainees will be qualified with the EASA 147 certificate and EASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency.
