Captain Ebrahim Al Hamer, managing director of Bahrain Air has revealed plans to raise the number of its weekly services to Dubai from 16 to 21, as the private carrier seeks to recover from the 65% drop in sales between February and June due to the political turmoil in the kingdom, Gulf News has reported. The airline is planning to fly to Dubai three times per week starting next year, up from the current twice a week, he said. “Dubai is similar to Bahrain in terms of the type of economy and the focus on financial services. The two markets complement each other. So therefore it makes sense to service tourism and business,” Al Hamer said.
