Etihad Airways recorded a 36% increase in post-Eid passengers over the same four-day period last year. The airline declared that the four-day period post Eid Al Fitr this year, in which the airline transported 181,333 passengers, was the busiest in its history, Albawaba has reported. The load factor for this period also rose from 79.3% in 2013 to 88.1% in 2014. Each Etihad Airways cabin experienced a significant increase with First Class load factors rising by 6.1 percentage points, Business Class by 12.1 percentage points, and Economy Class by 8.6 percentage points. Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We’re delighted to have flown this record number of passengers over the post-Eid al Fitr period, with record load factors covering destinations from all corners of our global flight network.
