FlyDubai’s flight FZ897 has landed in Hofuf marking the start of the first direct link between the city and Dubai.
Upon landing, the flight was greeted by a water cannon salute. On board the flight was Hamad Obaidalla, FlyDubai’s Chief Commercial Officer, alongside members of FlyDubai’s senior management team. The airline’s delegation was welcomed by senior officials from Al Ahsa Chamber of Commerce, General Authority of Civil Aviation and Al Ahsa Airport.
Thanking the Saudi authorities for their continuous support, which has made serving a wide network of destinations in Saudi Arabia possible, Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer, FlyDubai said, “We appreciate the valuable support we have received from the Saudi authorities since we began our operations to this important market. This support enables us to provide direct flights to cities like Hofuf. We are proud of offering the first direct link between Al Ahsa governorate and Dubai.”
“The new route will not only allow our passengers from both the UAE and Saudi Arabia to visit their friends and family easily, but will open new opportunities for business and leisure travellers between our nations. We are excited about welcoming the people of Hofuf and Al Ahsa governorate on board FlyDubai,” he added.
Passengers from one of the major cultural centres in Saudi Arabia will now be able to travel to Dubai or connect onwards across the FlyDubai network, while UAE residents will have the opportunity to explore a region with a rich historical and cultural tradition.
