Lufthansa, the largest European airline group, is set to operate from Doha’s new airport, Hamad International Airport. The first Lufthansa flights from Germany will arrive at the new airport from Thursday 22 May with flight LH 620 from Frankfurt to Qatar’s capital.
The first Lufthansa flight to depart from Hamad International Airport will be on the following day, as flight LH 621 leaves Doha for Frankfurt on 23 May at 01:30. Passengers of LH 621 are advised to check in on 22 May at the new Terminal 1, between Check-in areas 7 and 10.
From 23 May onwards, all Lufthansa flights to and from Doha will route through Hamad International.
“Lufthansa welcomes the move to the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport and we are pleased to inform our passengers of our new base in Doha. We would like to extend our congratulations to the airport authorities of Hamad International Airport as it begins operations,” said Karsten Zang, Lufthansa’s new General Manager UAE and Director Gulf and Pakistan.
“With the new airport in Doha, passengers will enjoy modern facilities and convenient Lufthansa check-in area for a seamless travel experience. Doha has been a strong addition to our global network since January 2006 and we have continuously grown this service with additional flights and larger aircraft. Over this period, the capital of Qatar has become a strong pillar in our Middle Eastern network and Frankfurt a preferred hub for our customers. With our strong global network, Lufthansa offers passengers from Doha more connections to Europe, North America and beyond than any other carrier,” he added.
